Delhi Baba Accused of Harassing 17 Students; Survivor Shares Harrowing Experience
Self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Swami Parthasarathy, has been accused of sexually harassing at least 17 women students at his private management institute in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj. A fresh complaint from one of the survivors, who had earlier lodged a molestation case in 2016, has reignited public outrage.
The woman, who joined the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management at the age of 20, said she dropped out within eight months due to the harassment. In her testimony, she alleged that Chaitanyananda often addressed her with words like “baby” and “sweet girl”, sent obscene texts, and coerced her into private meetings after classes.
“He told me he would take me to Dubai, cover my expenses, and make me successful. But his intentions were predatory. He even confiscated my mobile phone, isolated me in the hostel, and called me at night,” she recalled. The woman further claimed that he tried to touch her inappropriately, forced conversations about traveling to Mathura, and even pressured her to accompany him to dinners and stay in hotels.
She eventually fled the institute, leaving behind all her belongings. “Baba’s aides came to my house to pressure me to return, but my father chased them away,” she said.
According to police records, Chaitanyananda had previously faced molestation charges in 2009 and 2016, but allegedly used his influence to evade action. In the latest case, 17 women filed joint complaints in August 2025. At that time, he was believed to be in London, but investigators later traced him to Agra.
Delhi Police have since issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) to prevent him from leaving India. Raids have been conducted in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan. The accused, however, remains untraceable after withdrawing his anticipatory bail plea from the Delhi High Court.
The disturbing revelations have raised serious questions about the unchecked power of self-styled godmen and the lack of accountability in private educational institutions.
