.BSF jawan injured after Pakistan troops resort to unprovoked firing in Akhnoor sector of Jammu.

In the Jammu region of Akhnoor, a Border Security Force (BSF) member sustained injuries on Wednesday as a result of Pakistani troops shooting on Indian posts without warning, in violation of a border ceasefire agreement.

Although officials stated that deaths on the Pakistani side were not immediately known, the BSF forces replied.

"Unprovoked fire from across the border occurred in the Akhnoor area on September 11, 2024, at around 02:35 AM. The BSF appropriately replied to this event. In the Pak shooting, one BSF member was hurt. The BSF said in a statement that "troops are on high alert."

Since India and Pakistan extended their ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021, there have been very few ceasefire violations between the two nations.

The first Indian casualty in more than three years occurred when Pakistan Rangers opened fire on a BSF jawan last year in the Ramgarh area.

Days before the first round of the three-phase assembly elections, which are set for September 18, there is a violation of the ceasefire accord. September 25th will mark the second phase, and October 1st will mark the third phase.
