Severe rainstorms battered Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, resulting in multiple rain-related fatalities. Traffic on the roads and trains was hampered by the flooding caused by the heavy rainstorm.

Rivers have risen in both states, and thousands of people have been relocated to relief camps by federal and state emergency response teams.

There could be more rain in a few regions of the two states, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has cautioned.

1.Speaking with Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana A Revanth Reddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured them of all the assistance the federal government could provide.

2.According to Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the minister of revenue in Telangana, nine persons have perished in rain-related incidents throughout the state. The local administrations in Suryapet, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahbubabad, and Khammam evacuated the residents of many villages affected by flooding to safety.

3.On Sunday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy called an emergency review meeting. In the meantime, Hyderabad also had a lot of rain, which caused waterlogging in many areas of the city. As of September 2, all district schools have been closed by the administration. Waterlogging in Khammam left a number of people stuck on rooftops.

4.In Telangana, certain districts may see a deterioration in the situation. The weather service in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, and Mahabubnagar districts of Telangana issued a red alert on Sunday for very heavy to extremely heavy rain at isolated locations until 8.30 am on September 2.

According to an official announcement, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in certain areas of Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Parvatipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Kakinada, and Nandyala districts.

6.The chief minister claimed that floodwater that was meant to be directed to Kolleru Lake was instead heading in the direction of Vijayawada. "We are making reinforcements downstream of Prakasam Barrage with sandbags and other means and alerted the district collectors," stated Naidu.

7.According to him, 17,000 individuals were sent to 107 relief centers. 7,360 hectares of horticulture fields and 1.1 lakh hectares of agricultural areas were damaged, he continued.

8.According to PTI, the South Central Railway (SCR) zone, which is based in Secunderabad and covers the Vijayawada Division, canceled 140 trains and redirected 97 more on Sunday.

9.26 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been sent by the central government to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to assist with flood relief and rescue efforts. Fourteen more teams are being sent, in addition to the twelve that are now stationed in the two neighboring states.
