Darji Online: Empowering Rural Women through Craftsmanship and Innovation
Setha Singh Rawat receives the Bharat Business Award for Entrepreneur of the Year, revolutionizing rural empowerment.
Darji Online, founded by visionary entrepreneur Setha Singh Rawat, is revolutionizing rural empowerment in India by connecting traditional craftsmanship with global markets. Born in Rajasthan, Setha Singh was deeply moved by the struggles of women artisans and their untapped potential. His journey led to the creation of Darji Online, a platform that trains women in stitching and garment production while providing sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Launched as part of Digital Generation Sansthan in 2017, the initiative began in Ajmer, Rajasthan, training women to produce school uniforms, T-shirts, and more. Over 250 women have been empowered, earning financial independence and transforming their lives.
Through its “Local2Global” initiative, Darji Online enables artisans to sell their products internationally. The program has garnered national recognition, including a mention in PM Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat.”
Darji Online continues to expand, fostering a self-reliant ecosystem for women artisans and inspiring communities nationwide.
