Indian advertising agencies McCann Worldgroup and Ogilvy won a combined four awards on the first day of the Cannes Lions 2024 International Festival of Creativity. These awards were given in the Health & Wellness and Outdoor categories, out of the six categories with announced winners on that day.
McCann Worldgroup won a Gold and Bronze Lion for their "Fit My Feet" campaign created for Buckaroo Footwear. This campaign addressed the challenge of providing affordable custom footwear for people with clubfoot. The solution was a toolkit using raw materials and existing cobbler tools to create inexpensive slippers. The kits were designed with medical professionals and tested with cobblers before a successful launch in Mumbai. Since February, over 228,000 custom flip-flops have been created at a cost of around Rs 200 per pair, while also providing cobblers with a new revenue stream.
