Soldier Injured, Terrorists Trapped in Ongoing Operation in J&K’s Udhampur
An Army soldier was injured during an ongoing encounter with terrorists in the Seoj Dhar area of Udhampur, J&K. The joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police began Friday night and continues, with 2–3 militants believed trapped near the Doda-Udhampur border. This comes just hours after a separate anti-terror operation in Kishtwar. The incident follows increased militant activity in the Pir Panjal region, where recent encounters have claimed the lives of Army personnel. Security forces have reinforced the area as the operation remains underway.

Soldier Injured, Terrorists Trapped in Ongoing Operation in J&K’s Udhampur
A fierce encounter broke out late Friday between security forces and terrorists in the Seoj Dhar area of Udhampur district, leaving one Army soldier injured. The joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police began Friday evening and continued overnight, with two to three terrorists believed to be trapped in the region.
The injured soldier was evacuated to the Command Hospital in Udhampur and is under treatment. Officials said his condition is stable.
The White Knight Corps, in a midnight update on X, confirmed that contact with terrorists was established at the Doda-Udhampur border, noting, “Operation continues.” Security forces have tightened the cordon to prevent the militants from escaping.
Parallel Operation in Kishtwar
Just an hour before the Udhampur encounter, another intelligence-based operation unfolded in Kishtwar around 8 pm on Friday. Troops of the White Knight Corps engaged in a brief exchange of fire after establishing contact with militants. “Exchange of fire took place. Operations are currently in progress,” the Corps said in a late-night update.
By 11 pm, IGP Jammu confirmed that joint teams of the Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police and the Army were in action at Seoj Dhar, actively engaging terrorists.
Recent Spike in Terror Activity
This encounter follows the Kulgam gunfight on September 8, where two Army personnel — Subedar Perbhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu — succumbed to injuries sustained during an anti-terror operation. Their sacrifices were honored by the Chinar Corps, which called their courage an inspiration for all.
Officials say recent operations in Udhampur, Kishtwar, and Kulgam reflect an increased militant push in the Pir Panjal region, with infiltration attempts and sleeper cell activities on the rise. Security forces have intensified combing operations to neutralize these threats.
As the Udhampur encounter continues, reinforcements remain on high alert, and senior officers are monitoring the situation closely. Authorities have assured that further details will be shared once the operation concludes.
