Mumbai 1BHK with ₹45,000 rent sparks amusement: ‘Sir, that’s a chawl’
A 45,000 one-bedroom flat in Mumbai has generated laughter on the internet. People made fun of the expensive rent and questioned the claim that the flat has "old vibes."
Days after a widely shared real estate advertisement featured a washing machine positioned above a toilet in a small Mumbai apartment, drawing attention to the city's exorbitant rental costs and acute housing shortage, the internet has taken notice of another peculiar apartment in the Maximum City.
The one-bedroom flat, also known as a 1BHK in local parlance, is situated in Matunga and has a small living/drawing room, a bedroom with the bed taking up most of the space, and a kitchen. A tiny stairway from the living area goes up to a loft that can be utilised as additional storage.
