Kolkata rape & murder case: Mamata Banerjee to lead rally demanding speedy trial
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday will lead a rally demanding speedy trial in the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital.
This development coincides with a national demonstration against the doctor's rape and murder.
At approximately 4 p.m., the Trinamool Congress (TMC) rally, spearheaded by party chief Banerjee, would begin at Moulali crossing. The TMC has scheduled a number of protest demonstrations through Monday to call for the accused to be executed.

A different series of rallies in the state has also been announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP is probably going to have a torch march from Exide Crossing to the chief minister's house starting at 5:30 p.m.
A sit-in demonstration at the Shyambazar crossing, Exide Crossing, and Jadubabur Bazar in Bhowanipore, the chief minister's assembly seat, has been announced by the BJP.
