Lebanon: 20 killed in Hezbollah walkie-talkie explosions day after pager blasts; Israel PM issues statement
Blasts from Hezbollah devices in Lebanon: Both the Lebanese government and Hezbollah accused Israel of carrying out the attack, and the latter promised to strike back.
In numerous locations around Lebanon, walkie talkies or hand-held radios used by the militant group Hezbollah exploded, resulting in at least 20 fatalities and over 450 injuries. The extremely clever attack was launched just one day after an alleged Israeli attack that was directed at pagers that the group used for internal communication.Even if there have also been injuries to civilians in these attacks, two consecutive attacks that resulted in at least 32 fatalities and over 3000 injuries could complicate efforts to bring peace to a region torn apart by the Gaza War.
