The deep depression over the Arabian Sea known as Cyclone "Asna" has been dumping a lot of rain on Gujarat, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning about it on Saturday. across the next 24 hours, the cyclone is predicted to travel away from the Indian coast and toward the west-northwest across the northeast Arabian Sea.

Where is the current location of Cyclone ‘Asna’?

Cyclone "Asna" was roughly 200 km southwest of Karachi (Pakistan) and 310 km west of Naliya (Gujarat) as of 5.30 am on August 31 (Saturday). It is anticipated that the storm will continue to move west-northwest over the Arabian Sea's northeast and northwest before turning west-southwestward over the course of the next day.

Cyclone Asna, formed over the coast of Kutch in Gujarat, has moved into the Arabian sea without leaving any major impact on the region. However IMD has warned:

• Up until August 31 in the evening, rough to extremely rough sea conditions are predicted to be present throughout the shores of Gujarat and the adjacent north Maharashtra state.

It is recommended that fishermen refrain from fishing in the Northeast and adjacent East-Central Arabian Sea, as well as near and off the beaches of Gujarat and north Maharashtra, till August 31st.


Kachchh receives heavy rain in 24 hours

The past 24 hours have seen extremely severe rains in Kachchh. Since June 1, Gujarat has received 882 mm of rain, which is 50% more than usual, according to IMD scientist Ramashray Yadav.

The IMD representative stated, "Higher-than-normal rainfall has also been recorded in the Saurashtra and Kachchh regions."

Yadav said that Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad would likely have light to moderate rainfall on Saturday.
