The Yamuna River’s water level at 7 am on Friday stood at 207.33 metres, according to the Central Water Commission (CWC). While slightly lower than Thursday’s 207.48 metres, the level remains above the danger mark, leaving several parts of Delhi and the NCR inundated.

An official from the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) department said that though the water seems stable, it is expected to stay above danger level, causing persistent waterlogging across the capital.

Flood Situation Across Delhi

  • Loha Pul (Old Railway Bridge): Visuals showed the Yamuna flowing in spate, forcing residents of nearby low-lying areas to move to shelter camps.

  • Civil Lines & Monastery Market: Streets remained heavily waterlogged; stray animals were spotted wading through the floodwaters.

  • Vasudev Ghat: Pumping machines have been deployed to remove stagnant water, while vehicles including autorickshaws and tractors were seen stuck or moving slowly through waterlogged roads.

  • Mayur Vihar-1: Residents shifted to relief camps, though earlier floodwater had entered some shelters.

Meanwhile, Delhi saw clear skies on Friday morning after days of heavy rainfall. The IMD forecast a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain, with temperatures ranging between 23°C and 33°C.

Impact in NCR

  • Ghaziabad: At least 55 families were rescued from Badarpur village after water from Haryana’s Hathnikund barrage caused the Yamuna to swell.

  • Relief Efforts: Evacuated families were provided with food, including infant milk. Camps, ambulances, and health teams with essential medicines have been deployed.

  • Gurugram: Several low-lying areas continue to face waterlogging, prompting local administration to stay on high alert.

Officials said the main priority remains protecting the Yamuna embankments to prevent further flooding in villages along the river.
